Index-based agricultural insurance in West Africa
Lessons learnt
Since 2020, ADA has been implementing projects offering producers or breeders affordable and accessible index-based agricultural insurance products to strengthen their resilience to climate shocks. In total, ADA carried out seven projects in West Africa since 2020, in collaboration with five partners.
In this document, ADA reviewed these projects to learn from these different experiences. It presents a summary of good practices for the development of inclusive and sustainable insurance products, lessons learned, prospects and the role envisaged for donors and support organisations.
