Despite their growth potential, innovative SMEs, microfinance institutions and business support organisations in developing countries with a strong social or environmental mission are often stifled by a limited availability of funding. These organisations can now benefit from a broad range of tailored and flexible financing instruments from the Financing Innovation Tool (FIT).
As a Societal Impact Company (SIS), FIT enjoys greater flexibility than common impact investment funds – it can take greater risk and focus on impact rather than returns.
Our mission
Offer flexible and long-term financing solutions to enable impact-oriented investees in developing countries to become investor-ready and increase their social and environmental impact. In this way, FIT serves as a tool for unlocking the potential of emerging markets in a holistic and sustainable manner.
This FIT funding can be complemented with ADA’s holistic support and expertise to sustainably strengthen the investees’ internal governance and market readiness. In addition, FIT investees enjoy privileged access to ADA’s network of local and international partners and ADA can act as a facilitator to unlock further sources of funding or to help find the perfect service provider or business partner.
A FIT investment therefore serves as the basis for a long-term partnership with the investees to improve their effectiveness, sustainability and social impact, thereby helping them to attract additional funding from impact investors to scale up their activities.
