Call for applications to host SAM 2025

African Inclusive Finance Week

Body

In partnership with the Luxembourgish Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade (MFA) and the MAIN network (Microfinance African Institutions Network) based in Togo, ADA (Appui au développement autonome) is launching a call for applications for host countries for the next edition of the African Inclusive Finance Week (SAM) in October 2025.

The largest event dedicated to inclusive finance in Africa, the SAM week assembles more than 1,000 professionals from the sector every two years. The event facilitates discussions on the challenges to inclusive finance and highlights best practices and innovations to strengthen the sector and improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations. SAM offers experts, financial institutions, investors, entrepreneurs, regulators and government representatives a unique platform for learning, networking and partnering.

Why should your country host SAM 2025?

Hosting SAM represents an exceptional opportunity for the host country to position itself as a leader in the field of financial inclusion, promote an exchange of knowledge and good practices amongst leading representatives of the sector, expand its network of contacts and attract new investments. Hosting the event also boosts the local economy while highlighting national financial inclusion initiatives.

The two phases of the host country selection process:

Phase 1

Pre-selection: as a first step, we invite governments, relevant ministries and networks of microfinance institutions and professional associations supported by their governments to express their interest. The aim of this first stage is to pre-select candidate countries based on government commitment, infrastructure quality and accessibility.

Phase 2

Submission of a full application: the candidate countries shortlisted by the organisers will then be invited to submit a more comprehensive application.
