Re(focusing) on vulnerable populations to meet upcoming challenges in inclusive finance
In an unstable world marked by multiple crises (economic, political, climate), inclusive finance remains more essential than ever to help the most vulnerable populations improve their resilience, seize opportunities and strengthen their autonomy.
This two-day conference brings together impact investors, microfinance institutions, financial service providers, innovators, government representatives and researchers to discuss, collaborate and map out a path towards financial inclusion in Africa.
Why refocus inclusive finance on vulnerable populations?
Historically, the mission of inclusive finance was to serve vulnerable populations. However, these groups now risk being left out by the many external changes underway. It is therefore essential for inclusive finance to stay focused on their needs to enable these populations to adapt to their changing environment.
The conference is structured around three themes:
- Understanding and meeting evolving needs of existing and new customers in a constantly changing environment
- Financial service providers adapting to change: balancing innovation with regulation and client protection
- Financing inclusive finance: staying client-focused in a changing funding landscape.
